LG washer error codes

Match the letters on the washer display before choosing a procedure. Filling, draining, door locking and control settings need different checks, even when they all interrupt a wash.

Choose the code on your display

These are the guides currently available. This is not a complete list for every model.

Read the display carefully

IE and OE lead to different water-system checks. CL is a control-lock message rather than a reason to order a repair part. Keep any extra characters, such as dE1 or dE2, when recording a door warning; the detailed guide explains the distinction for its covered washers.

A code identifies the warning to investigate. It does not establish which part, if any, needs replacing.

Match the instructions to your model

Record the full model number and whether the washer is front-loading or top-loading. Compare the guide’s scope with your model manual, especially before opening a filter cover or using a button combination.

  1. Record the full display message and when it appeared in the cycle.
  2. Find the model number and the instructions supplied for your country.
  3. Open the matching code guide and read its scope and safety limits before starting.

If your code is not listed

Check the model manual or contact the manufacturer with the complete message. Do not substitute a similar-looking code from another model or brand.
